While you'd expect to see jobs posted such as "Six Sigma Black Belt", "Six Sigma Consultant", or "Six Sigma Green Belt", many times it is not apparent from the job title that the company is looking for Six Sigma expertise. For example, a Six Sigma Black Belt Job may be posted as a "Quality Manager", "Continuous Improvement Leader", or "Director of Operational Excellence". If you're a Six Sigma Master Black Belt, you may also find jobs posted for high level positions.
Six Sigma Black Belt Job Qualifications:
Most companies that are posting Six Sigma Black Belt Jobs are looking for both the proper certification as well as practical experience in the field. This includes a thorough knowledge of Six Sigma philosophies and principles (including supporting systems and tools)as well as skills in team leadership, team dynamics, and the ability to assign team members tasks according to their roles and responsibilities. In addition, you'll need to have a thorough understanding of the DMAIC model in accordance with the Six Sigma principles plus solid project management understanding and experience.
